Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq  VS Kia Seltos
The Skoda Volkswagen India showcased two compact SUVs as an outcome of their India 2.0 project. Skoda came up with the Kushaq and Volkswagen with the Taigun, both of which are compact SUVs and expects to stand in front of the segment king Kia Seltos.

The twins have a completely indigenous design that is specifically made for India. Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun are based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The Skoda Kushaq was recently unveiled and all the efforts made by the brand reflects in the product. It gets a large front grille that retains the signature Skoda look and it sits on a beautiful looking 17-inch alloy wheel. The Volkswagen Taigun gets a thinner grille. Both the cars come with LED headlamps with a projector.

 Kia Seltos
The Seltos has an upright and sporty look and is built on the same platform as the new Creta. It has a great road presence, the front has a mid sized grille and a LED daytime running light that runs across the front and it gets 16-inch alloy wheels Whereas the GT line gets crystal cut 17-inch alloy wheels.

Skoda Kushaq ventilated seats
The Skoda Kushaq and the Kia seltos are loaded with features. The Volkswagen Taigun has not been unveiled yet but it is expected to be identical to the Kushaq.

Kushaq and Taigun Engine

Volkswagen 1.0 TSI
Kushaq and the Taigun are powered by the same engine but group discontinued their diesel cars after BS6 therefore both the twins will be available in petrol only option. They get two engine options, the 1.0-liter turbo petrol that can be seen in rapid. It makes 103bhp and 175Nm torque which makes it a good performance pack but the 1.5-liter turbo petrol makes a whooping 147 bhp and 250Nm torque.

The Kia seltos has two engines on offer, a 1.5-liter engine that makes 113 bhp with both petrol and diesel variants and also a 1.4-liter turbo patrol making 138 bhp. The diesel engine option is an added advantage for the Seltos as more than 50% customers are opting for the diesel variant.

The 1.0-liter turbo petrol can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. For the most exciting 1.5-liter TSI it gets a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG for the automatic.
Kia Seltos
The Seltos has a 6 speed manual and in case of automatic the diesel has a 6-speed torque converter gearbox and the petrol can be had with a CVT or DCT gearbox.

The Skoda Kushaq has been recently unveiled and has a great interior. It gets a new look for the AC vents and a 10-inch infotainment system and the dashboard look really good but has more plastic materials for a bit of cost cutting. The two spoke steering wheel looks unique and we expect it to be Skoda signature steering wheel from now on. The Skoda Kushaq also a gets a sunroof which is one of the most demanded in the segment. The Volkswagen Taigun’s interior has not been unveiled yet but you can expect a standard VW design and quality.
Kia seltos interior
Kia Seltos gets a premium all black interior and is known for the quality of the interior. It has a 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system with 6 speaker setup. In addition, Seltos will get a sunroof which is not panoramic. It also gets leather seats and the GT line edition gets red stiches on the steering and the seats.

The twins are expected to be priced between ₹9 Lakh to ₹17 Lakh. Above all, this price will make the SUVs compete with segment leaders like Seltos, Creta and Brezza.
Kia seltos side
Kia Seltos prices range from ₹9.89 Lakh to ₹17.34 Lakh ex-showroom. Moreover, Seltos is the current market leader in the compact SUV segment. We will have to wait till June to see the result of India 2.0 project.
