Kushaq and Taigun

Kushaq and the Taigun are powered by the same engine. The group discontinued their diesel cars after BS6 and both the twins will be available in petrol only option. They will be powered by 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-liter turbo petrol will make 108bhp and 175Nm torque. The 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine makes 147 bhp and 250Nm torque.
Hyundai Creta
The main reason for the Creta to be on top is the engine options. A 1.5-liter engine that makes 113 bhp with both petrol and diesel variants and also a 1.4-liter turbo petrol making 138 bhp. The diesel engine variant is the most sold.

Power output

Power figures of all the main competitors in the segment. The Skoda Kushaq and the Taigun with the 1.5-liter turbo petrol stand in the third position.

Kushaq and Taigun will be offered with three different transmission options. A six speed manual, six speed automatic or the 7-speed DSG.
Hyundai Creta
The Creta has a 6 speed manual and in case of automatic the diesel has a 6-speed torque converter gearbox and the petrol can be had with a CVT or DCT gearbox.

Kushaq and Taigun
The Skoda Kushaq has been recently unveiled and has a great interior. It gets a new look for the AC vents and a 10-inch infotainment system. The dashboard looks really good but has more plastic materials for a bit of cost cutting. The two spoke steering wheel looks unique and we expect it to be Skoda’s signature steering wheel from now on. The Skoda Kushaq also gets a sunroof which is one of the most demanded features in the segment. Volkswagen Taigun gets a 10-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Unlike the Skoda Kushaq, the Volkswagen Taigun gets a fully digital 10.2-inch instrument cluster.

Hyundai Creta gets a premium interior with leather seats. It gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system and climate control AC with minimalistic design. The Creta also gets a semi digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch MID. The Hyundai Creta gets India’s favourite feature, a panoramic sunroof..

Kushaq and Taigun
The twins are expected to be priced between ₹10 Lakh to ₹16 Lakh. The price will make the SUVs compete with segment leaders like Seltos, Creta and Brezza.
Creta price ranges from 9.99 lakhs to 17.53 lakhs ex-showroom. The Creta stands after the Kia Seltos in the best selling SUV. We will have to wait to see the result of the Skoda Volkswagen project.
