Ferrari 488 Pista

Ferrari 488 Pista went around this track in 7:00.03 in 2019. Powered by a 710hp 3.9 L twin-turbocharged engine, this Ferrari has a Power to Weight Ratio of 448 hp/ton

Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce

Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce lapped this track in 6:59.73 in 2015. This car has 770 hp 6.5 Liter Naturally Aspirated V12 engine that gives this car a Power to Weight Ratio of 500 hp/ton

The Porsche 918 Spyder

Lamborghini Aventador LP770-4 SVJ

760 bhp Lamborghini Aventador LP770-4 SVJ with a power to weight ratio of 447hp/ton topped the charts with a time of 6:44.97 when driven by the factory driver in 2018. It is powered by a 6.5 Litre naturally aspirated V12.


There does not seem to be a strong correlation between PWR and lap times. A 342 hp/ton GT3 does better than a 508 hp/ton 918 Spyder (That too with electric motors for instant torque). Notice how there are so many Porches in the top 10. Also where are the hyper cars like the Agera, Veyron, etc? Did they not bother to set a lap time or they are just made to go fast on an air field? Lets dig into that soon.
