The Toyota Fortuner is the King of the premium SUV segment. While Ford Endeavor is competing very well with the Fortuner, MG Gloster which is a newcomer in the segment poses a threat to the Endeavor and also Fortuner.

Engine comparison
The Fortuner has two engine options: a 2.7-liter petrol engine that makes 164bhp and puts out 245Nm torque. In the diesel variant it gets a 2.8-liter engine that makes a whooping 201bhp and 500Nm torque. Both the engines can be had with 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission options. 
The MG Gloster comes with a 2.0 liter Twin Turbo diesel engine that makes 215bhp and 480Nm torque. The engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission which is the only option available.

Fortuner Legender
The Toyota Fortuner Legender gets sporty design elements compared to the standard Fortuner. It gets a redesigned LED projector headlight with three segments separated by LED daytime running lights. The Legender has a sleek dual grille design with an aerodynamic fog lamp mounts and flowing turn indicators. 
MG Gloster
The MG Gloster looks huge with a large front grille that gives head turning road presence. The grille is completely chrome plated with a wide front and a LED projector headlamps with a simple DRL. Near the bumper it gets vertical fog lamps.


Dimensional comparison
The MG Gloster looks like you are driving around a 1BHK. It is large in all aspects, it is 100mm longer and  has 205mm longer wheelbase compared to the Fortuner. The Fortuner is more dynamic and also has more ground clearance.

Fortuner interior

Interior comparison
The Space is sufficient in the Fortuner but the MG Gloster has more than enough space and gets 6 pilot seats. The upholstery looks premium in both the cars and the Gloster gets a panoramic sunroof that gives it a plus point.

Both the SUVs scored 5-star ratings in the Global NCAP. The off-road features in the Fortuner are fully manual making it more suitable for off-roading. The MG Gloster comes only with an automatic transmission and also an automatic terrain management system that gives you no control over the transmission.

Service Network

MG Gloater
MG has around 250 service networks and Toyota has around 315 service networks in the country. Both the cars offer a 3 year or 100000km warranty. The MG Gloster is loaded with premium features due its sales number is right behind the Ford Endeavor. In November 2020 a total of 627 units were sold that is pretty close to 656 units of Fortuner.
