Maruti Suzuki Swift 2021
Maruti Suzuki Swift 2021 is currently the best selling car in India. It is surprising that this car takes up some
like Tata Altroz, grand i10 Nios and manages to be the best selling car after being in the market for 16 years. The Maruti Suzuki Swift 2021 has been updated with new features. There must be some reason why people are going for Swift over other competitors that are offering the best.
It’s the same naturally aspirated 1.2-liter petrol engine that has been tuned to get 7 more bhp. The engine now makes 89bhp and 113Nm torque. It is now equipped with idle start-stop function boosting fuel economy to 23kmpl. Maybe that is one of the reasons?. It kind of gets the best of both worlds, power and fuel efficiency along with manual and AMT transmission.
Maruti Suzuki Swift 2021: Design
Swift looks good when it comes to design but the facelifted swift has zero to no change. It does get a lot of color options with a bunch of dual tone color combinations that you can customize. The only noticeable change that we noticed was the chrome line on the front grille
Maruti Suzuki Swift 2021: Interior
Maruti Suzuki swift does disappoint you with what it has to offer in the interior. The interior looks good with all black color schemes, it lacks a lot of interior features. The 7-inch infotainment system only on the top two variants and there are digital AC controls with climate control AC
The changes can be seen here and this is the only reason you can call it a facelift. The new Swift gets cruise control and a new colored MID on the instrument cluster. It gets the new idle start stop function and key synchronized auto folding ORVM.
Maruti Suzuki Swift 2021: Safety
The swift gets all the standard safety features such as ABS, EBD and parking sensors. The new safety features include brake assist and hill hold control in the AMT variant. The new swift gets bigger disc brakes that improves braking. The brand takes mileage over safety, the cars are made light (about 100kg less than competitors) due to which they end up getting less safety rating and the swift is no different with 2 star rating.
The 2021 swift is now expensive by ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 depending on the variant. The prices are from ₹5.73 Lakh to ₹8.41 Lakh.
What do we think?
Considering the volume it brings to Maruti Suzuki. The brand should consider updating with trending features at least in the top variants. The Swift misses out ventilated seats, connected car features, it lacks charging ports and mainly there are no rear AC vents!
Swift is more popular than the Baleno and some features can be borrowed from the premium sibling and an RS variant (turbocharged) will be a plus point. The reason to go for Maruti Suzuki is the ease of service, both in terms of price and service network the brand stands out of all. The resale value for these cars are also very good for the same reason.
