Mahindra Electric And its Quadricycle Spied
Mahindra is one of the leading and old players in Electric vehicles in India. The Reva Electric Car company was founded in 1944 that launched the REVA-i that was a 2-seater mini car. In 2010 the company was acquired by Mahindra and now is called Mahindra Electric. Now Mahindra electric has a great line up of EVs including one based on REVA-i.
The Mahindra Atom
In 2018 Auto Expo 2018 Mahindra presented a concept vehicle called the ATOM. It was actually a three seater quadricycle that Mahindra thinks is a unique mobility concept for last-mile connectivity. The quadricycle was spied near Mahindra Electric’s Bengaluru R&D plant and is set to launch anytime soon.
It is powered by Mahindra’s new electric powertrain that gets swappable batteries that allows it to operate for long hours. The ATOM is made for last mile and urban connectivity. It will be equipped with Mahindra’s mobility solution called NEMO, A cloud based mobility solution that enables seamless booking and payment. Made for last-mile connectivity, it is smart and keeps you updated on the next departing train or flight on a real time basis.
Mahindra has not given away the specification of the vehicle nor the prices. It might get a 48v powertrain with 8-15Kw motor. The battery pack can be swapped and can be expected to have a range of 80-100km on single charge.
The Mahindra e2o and the e-Verito
The e2o is based on the REVA-i, it has a 19kw motor that gets power from a 11Kwh battery pack. It takes 5-hours to charge it fully and lasts for 75km.
The e-Verito is the electrified version of the Verito. The sedan has a 31Kw motor that makes 91Nm torque, it gets power from a 21.2 Kwh li-ion battery pack that can be charged in 1 hour 30min and can last up to 181km.
The Mahindra Treo and Mahindra Treo Zor
The Treo is the first electric three wheeler that comes in two variants, one with a 1.95kw motor with 125km range and the other one with a 8kw motor with a 141kw. The Mahindra Treo Zor is a pick-up version of the Treo that gets a 8Kw motor and has a range of 125Km on a single charge. The Treo and Treo Zor are very popular in the rural market. According to mahindra they can save upto ₹45k per year. The Treo is priced between ₹1.69 Lakh to ₹2.79 Lakh and the Treo Zor is price starts from ₹2.73 Lakh
Mahindra eSupro is India’s first 8-seater electric Van. The Van gets a 25kw electric motor that makes a 90Nm torque. It gets a 14.4Kwh battery pack that gets charged in 8 hours 30min. The Van can go up to 115km before running out of juice and has a 7km reserve charge when it runs out of juice. The prices are expected to be ₹8.75 Lakh for passenger van and ₹8.45 Lakh for cargo van.
