Hyundai Alcazar: Everything you need to know
The South Korean automaker become the market leader in SUV segment just after launching the compact SUVs Creta and Venue. Hyundai and Kia have a leading market share of 35% in the SUV segment, while Maruti Suzuki has 22%.
The Seven seater SUV segment has also grown in recent times. Products like
and MG Hector plus have seen success. It is important for Hyundai to enter this segment. Hyundai motor India will be entering this segment with the New Alcazar.
The Hyundai Alcazar will sit on top of the Creta in the product portfolio and will be a premium offering from the company for the new age buyers. According to SS Kim, managing director of Hyundai motors India, the Alcazar will make a global debut but will be “made in India” and “made first for India”.
The Alcazar will retain the Creta’s exterior except for some minor modifications. In the front it looks like the 5-seater new Creta but with an increased wheelbase to accommodate a third row. The front grille will have a huge chrome treated grille and in the rear you can notice a brake light that runs all the way from one end to other.

It gets LED projector headlamps along with daytime running lights. In this rendered image you can see the chrome bordered windows, blacked roof, shark fin antenna, grey roof rails and boot integrated spoiler.
Hyundai Alcazar Interior
The Interior might have dual tone seats and will feature a 10.25-inch infotainment system which is bigger than the Creta. It will feature Apple CarPlay and android Auto compatibility. It might have a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, climate control AC and multifunction steering wheel
Hyundai Alcazar Engine
The Alcazar might feature the same engine options as in the Creta. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol can be seen with the lower variant. The 1.4-liter turbo petrol is for more sports feel that makes 138bhp. The 1.5-liter diesel engine is the reason for Creta becoming the best seller which will be offered with the Alcazar as well.
Hyundai Alcazar Prices
The Alcazar will rival Mahindra XUV 500, Tata safari and MG hector Plus. The Price might be between ₹11 Lakh to ₹20 Lakh ex-showroom.
