All new XUV 500
Mahindra introduced the XUV 500 seven years ago as its flagship vehicle after Scorpio. During the launch it had some segment first features, great driving dynamics and could seat seven, All this with a 12Lakh price range seemed “value for money” back then but now there are a lot of rivals in the segment which pushed the XUV500 for a facelift.

The major change made for the new XUV 500 is for the front grille. The grille has a pint-sized chrome element that was inserted to give a premium look. The fog lamp mount that flows to the head lights also has some chrome finish.

New mahindra XUV 500 engine
The New XUV 500 will get an upgraded engine that will be BS6 compliant and makes more power than the previous generation. The 2.2L mHawk  will feature an electronically controlled turbocharger for better power delivery.

The BS4 XUV 500 used to offer AWD in the W11 variant that is discarded in the new generation. The new XUV 500 offers a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Synchromesh torque converter gearbox with manual option. 


Mahindra XUV 500 interior
The Interior was always a shine for the XUV500 and it’s not different now. The entire dash has piano black for the plastic material along with some chrome lines. It has a 15cm infotainment system with a lot of buttons that makes it feel like an aircraft dashboard. The instrument cluster has a circular multi information display in the center of the analog dials that gives a sporty feel.

The new XUV 500 got the most demanded feature in today’s SUV which is the Sunroof. The driving dynamics has always been a plus point to the XUV500 due to its Monocoque chassis that will improve the handling and stability. Features like 15cm infotainment, projector headlamps, micro hybrid technology and digital immobiliser are offered as standard.

66The older XUV 500 had scored four out of five stars in the Australian NCAP crash test for the top spec variant. Safety features for the new XUV 500 include 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with rollover mitigation, hill hold and hill descent control.
